Kati had adopted Appa a month before their private session from a shelter where he was an owner-surrender. Appa is a super sweet and affectionate dog but needed constant redirection to follow commands and was a strong leash puller as well as dog and people reactive.
Within 5 minutes of their private session, this smart and sweet guy caught on quick! He went from being a leash puller to understanding exactly where the boundary he should stay behind while walking is. Kati also was able to keep him focused even with other people and dogs around which was totally awesome.
For the past 4+ years our rescue organization has exclusively used Ricardo and his team at CharlieBar for all of our training needs. Ricardo has helped hundreds of our rescue dogs of all breeds and ages work past any and every issue you can think of at this point, from super fear dogs to incredibly impulsive to human and dog aggressive, and everything in between.

Book your Private Session or 2-week Board & Train.
With your Private Session, you learn all about how to communicate with your pup in a way it makes sense to them. For Board & Train you get an expedited cheat code by allowing us to get your dog trained up and then teach you how to keep it going.
Once you've raised the bar in your dog's training, you get to enjoy your best friend just like you intended.
1 on 1 with a trainer, location is up to you! We can meet at our facility, out in public at one of our recommended locations, or at your home.
You will learn how to train your dog in a way that makes sense to both you and your pup!
**Note: For any home sessions more than 30 miles from the facility there will be an additional travel fee of $25.
**Note: The $100 deposit when booking will go towards the $175 for your Private Session.
Your dog will be trained daily in all the basics along with any other needs expressed that is replicable. They will also enjoy daily energy release! (click “show more” and scroll down for more information.)
This service includes on-site training only at the CharlieBar Facility ($2,000), however if you’d like off-site training at local restaurants and public areas ($2,250) let us know!
The dogs are kenneled indoors in a house on a horse property and let out in rotations between 6am – 10pm in our large fenced-in areas. Dog friendly dogs will go out in groups depending on temperament, if not, then they will go out individually and we will energy release them and they will play with our staff. We love to send you picture updates once a day throughout their stay that way you won’t miss them too much!
If you’re booking 2 or more dogs, there will be a $150 discount per dog! Note: you will have to book each dog separately, so be sure to use this link to book your drop off for one pup at a time.
*This 15 minute window is for drop off and the $750 is the deposit that goes towards the total balance of your dog’s training.
